Somalia Specific Projects

1. Mental Health

  • (a). Reforming the current mental health treatment methodologies bringing them inline with modern practices through advocacy and campaigning initiatives.
  • (b).Training and developing Mental Health advocates/ambassadors who will raise awareness and reach out to the multitude of mental health surfers and their families in remote settings.
  • (c).Building and developing of a dedicated Mental Health centre/unit that will provide health care support to sufferers.

2. Disability

  • (a).Reforming the current disability treatment methodologies bringing them inline with modern practices through advocacy and campaigning initiatives.
  • (b).Training and developing Disability Health advocates/ambassadors who will raise awareness and reach out to the multitude of disabled persons and their families in remote settings.
  • (c).Prevention initiates (i.e. vaccinations for children to protect against illnesses that might result in permanent disability such as POLIO, etc)
  • (d).Building and developing of a dedicated Disability Health centre/unit that will provide health care support to sufferers (i.e. including making of disability related wearing/support aides)

3. Income generation

  • (a).Micro-finance initiatives for women entrepreneurs.
  • (b).Creation of employment opportunities within and outside the organisation.

4. Youth

  • (a).Anti-piracy and anti-war initiatives for boys and young men.
  • (b).Sports and Arts initiatives.
  • (c).Education and training initiatives.

5. Health care and women

  • (a).Dedicated healthcare centre catering for; expectant mothers, children, elderly and those in extreme poverty and unable to access medical support.
  • (b).Protection, support and treatment including counselling for raped women.
  • (c).Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) initiatives.
  • (d).Health initiative- including genealogical support.

6. Orphans and Street Children

  • (a).Orphanage with all amenities.
  • (b).The orphans will be provide different services that will help alleviate their socio-economic problems.
  • (c).Support service to street children – including efforts to re-unite them with relatives / parents.

7. Environment

  • (a).Farming and Environmental conservation.
  • (b).Agro-business and supply chain development for marginalised farmers.
  • (c).Promotion of farming and livestock methodologies.
  • (d).Water sanitation and basic communal lavatories.
  • (e).Promotion and conservation of the environment through agriculture.
